I'm 55, and just read that report Knobert referred to. I printed it off so I could tear it up into little pieces. Then I lit it on fire. Then I pissed on it. Then Lars Eller came in my office and laughed at me. I punched him in the face.

Yeah, I'm perfectly cool with that. It's a free country.

Don't lose by 7 goals and expect to not get taunted....plus these are grown men not kids we are talking about.

I think this discussion illustrates the difficulty of finding the right “place” for fighting in the game. Some people thought the NHL had done that by eliminating “staged” fights. But then you have situations like this one, where the question of whether Eller consented (either by taunting or trying to fight back) is certainly debatable. We’re never going to find the right place for fighting in the game and we’re never going to all agree in situations like this. I think that’s a very strong argument in favour of banning fighting altogether. I hate to say it, and I don’t want to open up a much larger can of worms here... but as much as I love old time hockey, I think this incident and the discussion around it show that it’s time to move on.

I really hope someone lays a good lickin’ on him. He’s overdue for one.

I spent my teenage years living beside the Forum but even though the Canadiens were winners back then, I was never a big supporter. I was born in TO, married in TO and my daughter was born in TO. For a couple of decades, I wandered without hockey being a part of my life. During the last couple of seasons, I've been cheering again for the Blue and White. My inner Leaf is breaking through. Now I need to attend the next Canadiens/Leafs game at the Bell Centre wearing my Tavares jersey. I'm certain I'll learn some new french swear words.

Assuming by "oath" that you mean your life was threatened ,then yes that is the only way i find that acceptable.
