However, should return be a 4th round pick or earlier, then, instead of a 7th, STL gets next available pick two rounds later than the earliest pick received by WSH. Ydomat Posted February 28, 2017 Report Share Posted February 28, 2017 Shattenkirk isnt a cornerstone defenseman (yet). Hes a PP specialist who is a defensive liability at times. STL will miss him for sure, but everyone knew a trade was happeneing. Dont get me wrong, i really like Shatty, great dude, great player, lots of time for him to become cornerstone guy. great trade for Washington... more offense to power through playoffs.
