I believe Nicklas Backstrom was prevented from playing in the 2014 Olympic Final for taking pseudo-ephedrine but was ultimately cleared of any doping violation. Ulf Nilsson (another NHL player) doped in international competition. As for guys who got suspended from NHL play, Sean Hill comes to mind. Interestingly, Bryan Berard tested positive for steroids he had taken during the NHL season, but was only suspended from international play.
