Winter Olympics Bracket Contest

With teams full of NHL players, filling out an Olympic bracket can be challenging.  With NHL players not participating, it’s near impossible.  Have some fun with this shot-in-the-dark bracket contest for the men’s hockey tournament at the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang!

First Round

Pick the top two teams in each Group in the round-robin preliminary round.  The order is not important.

Medal Round

Once the medal round bracket has been set, you’ll have a quick turnaround to get your bracket picks in!  Complete the bracket, and take a guess at the score of the Gold Medal Game.

Get 5 points for every correct pick in any round.  Nail the score of the Gold Medal Game?  Collect 2 bonus points.

The tiebreakers for this game will be picked at the very beginning, alongside the First Round picks.  Each of the tiebreakers below is worth 2 points:

  1. Guess the total number of goals scored in the gold medal game of the men’s tournament (if the game goes to a shootout, the winning team is awarded 1 goal for the shootout.  This goal does count toward this tiebreaker).
  2. Pick the gold medal winner of the women’s tournament (the game is February 22)
  3. Pick a top 3 point scorer in the men’s tournament
  4. Pick a top 3 point scorer in the women’s tournament
