Durham Dusters

I have been the owner of Leo Racicot in NAFL since its inaugural season of 2011 but was leery to take the plunge into multi-ownership in the years that followed for a variety of reasons, mostly due to having a third child join my family followed by coordinating the logistics of a move from Michigan to Ontario with my Canadian-born wife which involved a new home for our family and employment for the two of us.

In the spring of 2017 James affixed my attention to a vacancy in the ECFL and it felt like the right time to hop on the opportunity to expand my Capwise joy.  I’ve been stubborn to change my dull NAFL logo (it was a bottom 5 logo in the preliminary voting rounds and rightfully so) out of loyalty to its moniker, but the ownership opportunity in ECFL presented me with a chance to inject more creativity and fun into Capwise ownership.

Our family has found its home in the town of Port Perry, Ontario which is in the Durham Region (essentially what a county is in the states).  My hockey playing days are long in the past and my three children remind me of that each time we step onto a rink as they collectively skate circles around me.  I like beer and it helps restore my pride from those days on the rink when a delicious IPA is poured into my glass after the kids have gone to bed.  Since moving from the great beer state of Michigan to Ontario I have found some new brewery loves, one of which is Great Lakes (different from the Cleveland one) in Toronto.   They have terrific artwork associated with their brews and a few years back this fine bearded fella graced my twitter timeline in advance of a game during the 2014 Winter Olympics as a promotion to support the national club while indulging in one of their fine beverages.  I tip my glass to the brewery as my ECFL team logo has been a no-brainer from day one.
