Los Angeles Raccoons
I’ve had a ton of teams here over the years… Vikings, Birch Leafs, and Lions, to name a few. But I’ve always been partial to animal-themed nicknames. When I started a team in the SFHL, I wanted to use an animal that’s native to where I grew up in the Adirondacks. I did some research and had a few in mind… Black Bears, Moose, Fishers. But one of the most prevalent animals in the region is the pesky raccoon. I couldn’t resist going with it… it’s probably the only animal that can be found both there and where I live now in LA. Raccoons, skunks, squirrels, and white-tailed deer… that’s probably it. So anyway, Raccoons it is. I swiped the logo from a graphic designer who made it for his fantasy team (the Boise Raccoons) and did some photoshopping… it had a skyline of mountains and stuff that I replaced with a silhouette of the LA skyline (including the Hollywood Sign!) And you’ll notice a tiny bit of lime green hidden in there… a nod to the Brewpens (my PCFL team, and the CHA’s first franchise).
