  1. Serious question: Do you think this is driven by the NHL and media pushing McDavid and Matthews (for their "star appeal")? It just doesn't seem right there will be no Habs games (and I'm a Detroit guy).
  2. I grew up watching and admiring Guy, too. There was nothing like seeing him fly down the right-wing, long hair blowing back (yes, before helmets were mandatory). There was always something special about Guy - everyone knew it. Boy or boy could Guy skate and shoot! I need to go back and watch that goal he scored against Boston's Gilbert that turned the series around. RIP, Guy
  3. I'm old enough to have had the pleasure of watching Mike Bossy play and the Islanders win 4 consecutive Cups. I read this article a few years ago and it was posted again on the CBC site: https://www.theplayerstribune.com/articles/letter-to-my-younger-self-mike-bossy
  4. Seider for me, too. The kid is so solid, rarely out of position, and so calm. I gonna continue to give Yzerman big kudos for drafting this kid so early.
  5. Wish him well. He had a hell of a career.
  6. I'm the Poster Kid for making bad decisions. A quick scan of the spreadsheet shows this jewel I'd like a re-do on: I sure could have used Leon D's production the last few years. I later traded Domi, and am waiting on Anthony B to bloom.
  7. You guys crack me up! But I also agree with you!
  8. I think it's easy to take the officials for granted, but they are what make our game great too. There was a short story in the Globe and Mail on NHL Linesman Brad Kovachik's career. 1500 games is no small feat and he's seen a lot during that time. Hopefully, you can access the article here: https://www.theglobeandmail.com/sports/article-after-1500-games-veteran-nhl-linesman-brad-kovachik-has-seen-it-all/
  9. The Blues are hot, 9 straight wins! Yikes.
  10. Stevie Y would be great but we need him back in Detroit! We are a mess, too.
  11. Yzerman is stepping down as Tampa Bay's GM. I didn't see this coming. There has long been talk of figuring out a way to bring him back to Detroit. I no Kenny Holland fan, so I wouldn't shed any tears if he got the boot. https://www.cbssports.com/nhl/news/steve-yzerman-steps-down-as-general-manager-of-tampa-bay-lightning-in-stunning-move/
  12. Ouch, that shot he took to the head from Weber was nasty.
