Surely the player would have to agree to any trade as he has signed the offer sheet. Early indications are certainly that the Canes will match. So if it was a real play to secure the player it seems destined to fail and the Habs are in limbo for a week. Very strange. hope someone offer sheets Marner a similar deal. I knew something else was coming, whether it meant Kadri going, or even Nylander, Kappy or Johnsson. Down side is Barrie is on final year of contract taking him to free agency. AAV right now 5.5 v Kadri at 4.5. Will miss Kadri but when you miss multiple games via suspension in your team’s first round playoff series twice in a row it is time to go.
