If Shattenkirk re-signs in WSH OR plays 50 per cent of WSH playoff games in 1st 2 rounds and Caps advance to third, STL gets 2019 2nd rder.

There's more ... If Caps trade Shattenkirk on or before July 1, then Blues get Caps next available 7th round draft pick. (still more... )

However, should Caps get a pick in return for Shattenkirk that is 4th round pick or earlier, then Blues shall get Caps' ... (still more!!!)

... own next available draft pick two rounds later than the earliest draft pick received by Caps in exchange for Shattenkirk. (Seriously).

  3. There's nothing on your account on the back-end, and I'm not able to replicate the issue with a test account. I'm suspecting the domain still isn't 100% settled yet and your browser cookies are screwing up the log-in, which explains why you're OK on mobile but not desktop. Give it a day, and let me know if it's still occurring.

  4. We're on the new server, yay!

Things seem to be 100%. Biggest difference I've noticed is the site is faaast. Please post here if you notice any glitches.

Hopefully this means no more downtime ever, and I can put my time towards building cool stuff instead of wasting time fixing problems. Yay 2017!

Good Luck! Finding a good home for all our bits and bytes would be a great way to begin the New Year. The work of digital maintenance is never done. May the Server Gods be nice.

And a big Thank-You for securing our place in our digital world. Most of the time, it's a thankless job.

Ugh, it's annoying that I have to spend all this time on this as all our issues over the past year would've been taken care of by any decent server host. I've only learned a lot about server administration due to the trial by fire nature this host has put me through >.<

They used to be *so* good :(

  6. You guys probably noticed the downtime Capwise had the last couple days. That was on my crappy current server host, which should be enough for me to get my money back with the ol' credit card company.

Good news is I've been testing another server company for the last couple weeks, and I'm super impressed. While Capwise was down, I migrated the site and it seems to be operating 100% on the new server. As soon as James points our domain, I'm going to turn off the forums on *this* server so we don't lose any posts in transition. You might see a 'Forum is Offline' message for a bit, but that is intentional. As soon as the domain is pointed it'll be back up again automatically (in my experience it takes 2-12 hours - it can depend on browser cookies too). Plus, I'll do it overnight.

Assuming James is around, I'll aim to do it tonight.

  7. Yeah they're paying him to "go for it" over the next 4-5 years and will deal with the consequences/rebuild later. You can look at Chicago who's a little further along that window (though Marian Hossa is still killin' it).

What you see a lot of though, is that there are a few teams more than eager to take on the old/bad contracts from winning teams in exchange for a simple pick. It's why teams like Detroit (Datsyuk), Philly (Pronger) can keep bringing in new guys even though their windows to win should've closed years ago.

Burns will make $10 million a year for the first four years of his extension, then $7.5 million in year five, $6.5 million in year six, and $5 million in both year seven and eight.

We should stay up to date on our hockey news!

Burns signs a mega contract. The last 3-4 years of that deal will probably hurt, but I don't think there's any denying he's at the very least a top 10 D currently in the league, and will be one for the next few years - certainly top 5 for fantasy!

  9. IF THE BANNERS IN YOUR SIGNATURE ARE BROKEN, PLEASE LEAVE THEM BE FOR NOW.

All the banner images simply moved directories, so I think I can do a bulk URL swap in our database and take care of it in one shot. Won't be til after work today though.

@Bagwell: Yeah, I'll get to that with James when he wakes up. Need to figure out where we want to store these and how he's been uploading them in the past. Thanks for the FYI!

  10. Boom, we're now on Wordpress, bye-bye open season for hackers on Capwise's Joomla website. Wooooooooo.

Hackers found a new hole that instantly replaced their script whenever I deleted it today, hence the scary malware warning. Thus, I'm launching Capwise v1.1 right now though it's not 100% complete, more like 75%, but maybe 85% by the time you read this message.  Nothing terribly exciting and new, just different hopefully hack-free platform.

Malware warning might take a day or two to go away, but infected directory (/joomla) is gone forever.

    As you were!
