Hey, I found the issue, and it's not on your fronts. I had to get the credentials for the Capwise domain from James, so in the meantime I hooked up the mail server to my agency domain. Domains that are not Gmail, Outlook, or other major ones are rejecting the mail server due to the mail coming from not where it was initially sent - which... isn't a surprise.

I've already moved yesterday to get the mail server hooked to the Capwise domain to "cut out the middleman", just waiting 24-48 hours for it to actually point. Any minute now and it should automatically be fixed *fingers crossed*.

  2. Hey all, I'll be running an update on the forum later, meaning we may be down for ~15 minutes. This is a major update for the platform, mostly security and Admin-side, but it does include a new forum theme design. Past updates haven't fooled with our Capwise look, but I'm not certain on this one. If things look different later today, it is intentional and I'll be hopping on it ASAP :)

  3. Just a general thread, looking for some insights on your favourite teams. How happy are you with your team's draft?

    Oilers

Holloway @ #14 - I was really hoping for Jarvis at 14, but of course Carolina snipes him right before. Holloway - a physical, plus skating C/LW - likely doesn't have top-end offensive upside, but his physicality & two-way acumen could be a perfect fit alongside two offensive stars. I'm usually a fan of drafting best player available over fit, but I don't think there was much separation between him and other options at this point. Even if it takes him 2-3 years, he should be a really good fit somewhere in our top 9, likely top 6. I bet he peaks at 60 points assuming he can be a wingman to McD or Draisaitl.

Carter Savoie @ #100 - Big fan of this pick, notably because he's a local kid. Savoie is a 5'10 offensively skilled winger who played in the AJHL last year and will be going the US college route. While he lit up his league last year, we've seen a lot of guys out of the Junior A leagues flame out after their junior career in a hurry, so his upside is a total wildcard at this point.

Ty Tullio @ #126 - In contention for having one of the "best alliteration names in the draft", Ty Tullio is a 5'11 center slated to go higher in the draft, but fell due to skating concerns. Leans more playmaker than other player type, it'll be interesting to see if he's able to lead his Oshawa Generals in the OHL without his overage linemates.

Maxim Berezkin @ #138 - High-skilled LW in Russia, skating is his weakness, seems like a regional scout's pick.

Filip Engaras @ #169 - High work ethic center but low skill - skating a weakness. Also seems like a regional scout's pick.

Jeremias Lindewall @ #200 - No clue on this RW, hoping for Zetterberg.

Overall, I wouldn't expect much pop from this group, but I'm hoping they're able to fill depth positions among the Oilers lineup in 2-4 years. A solidly average draft considering our capital available. What about your team?

I agree with Bags, I think Sanderson is first off the board. Not at #4 though.

    I'd bet:

Byfield to the Kings (they have a ton of skill in the system, not so in terms of size and they've traditionally liked size) NAILED IT

Rossi or Perfetti to the Wings at 4 WRONG

Perfetti or Raymond to the Sens at 5 WRONG

Anaheim takes the first D, leaning Sanderson here, could be Drysdale MAYBE? Sanderson wasn't available

I do think Askarov goes to the Canes at #13 WENT AT #11
I bet (hope) Oilers go Jarvis, but if he's gone, then they go Holloway NAILED IT

I'm thinking Lundell drops, but we see a surprise (read: reach) pick by Minnesota or Winnipeg WRONG

Too many defensemen will go in the top ~12-25 WRONG - 5 total went in the top 25

    Eh, so-so.

This was the absolute highlight last year, if anyone needs some hype to join!!

I also tossed the invite link under James' commish messages that you'll see if you're a member of a CHA league.

Haha, yeah. I'll post an invite to the Discord channel for anyone that doesn't have it under CHA Discussion.

Also, I'm crossing my fingers for Raymond/Sanderson/Askarov for the Wings. Anyone but Perfetti please.

Just curious, why not Perfetti? I'm a fan of his apparent skill/hockey sense.

  8. I'll be the first to admit I very much became a hermit during this COVID bit, to the detriment of my mental health. Coming out of the cave a bit here, I realized I haven't really met a lot of our new (or not-new) managers across Capwise. How are you? Anything new and exciting? Are you cheering for any of the 4 remaining NHL teams? How about that Jordan Eberle? 😍
