For example, Pavelec is under contract for another year, so a team that owns him could drop him (only paying 50% of salary for remainder of contract term), keep him as on the Capwise roster or possible trade him (not sure that's a real option considering his situation). James Posted October 11, 2016 Report Share Posted October 11, 2016 If a JV eligible player is sent to the AHL, you must demote him. If a jv ineligible player is sent to the AHL, you're shut outta luck. Should've drafted a better player :-) You can carry pavelec as dead weight, or you can drop him or buy him out per our normal procedures.
