  1. I was blindly faithful to my Pens and started him in two leagues🤮🤮🤮

Best chant in the crowd after the second period was “Fire Hextall”

Looks like Washington has thrown in the towel on the season trading Orlov and Hathaway to Boston.

Pens should do the same, as even if they would be very lucky and make the playoffs, it would be another quick Round 1 exit.

  2. have tickets for 12 Pens games this season, was at 15+ last year including one in the playoffs.

they will be a playoff team , know it's a tough Metro division, but they still have a very good team, aging, yes, but with if they have good health, meaning Letang, Malkin and Crosby all possible play 70+ games, and I firmly believe they have a better more physical defense with Petry and Rutta, l liked Mathenson, but I can't tell you how many games I went to where he was directly responsible for allowing 1-2 goals a game because he's "soft" as Michael Terrin used to say. Petry and Pettersson will be playing primarily with Malkin/Zucker/Rakell, so I can see Petry having a pretty good year offensively playing mostly with the 2nd line. Jarry is a very good goalie, and made a couple All Star games, so pretty sure if he's healthy all year, they are OK in goal. Not sure about Carter (although I recently won a Jeff Carter autograph jersey at a golf outing, to go along with my Crosby, Kessel and Fleury signed Pens jerseys) if he plays as a 3rd line center facing 3rd pairing defenseman with Kapenan and Heinen, I can see him have an OK year, hopefully not a lot of TOI and they can hopefully spread the minutes between their 3 aging centers in Crosby, Malkin and Carter, and Bluegar will be the 4th center with McGinn and likely Josh Archibald to being a little truculence to the 4th line.

Don't give up on the Pens just yet for a nice playoff run in Pittsburgh.

Bill, in the 80's and 90's I was a diehard Pens fan. I wore 66 in midget for Mario. The first jersey I ever bought was a Pens jersey that I put 67 on the back. I actually still have it but it is in bad shape lol. Playing EA Sports hockey I was always the Penguins, and my created player was always number 71, long before Geno. Not sure what happened along the way, but even though Crosby was always one of my favorite players, as was Malkin, my love for team has faded hard. To the point where I was watching them play the hated NYR(Kreider on Price effect) and couldn't figure out who I was cheering for. Weird how it plays out, but I did decide I was going for Pittsburgh. I find it the same with a few other series too. Not sure who I want to win until I actually watch a bit of the series. And I haven't watched much to be honest....

well, I’ll be at Game 3 tonight in Pittsburgh, so I’ll be rooting for the Pens as I would guess there might also be quite a few Ranger fans in the crowd.

I’m a fan by also a realist, and looks like Louie will finish out the series, and not sure Louie will be able to help the Pens win round 1. If they lose in round 1, then fasten your seatbelts Pens Fans as it will be one of the most exciting off-seasons for the Pens in a long time with Malkin, Rust, Letang, Rakell, and DeSmith and Rodrigues all UFA’S, and I can envision a scenario where possible only Rakell, maybe Malkin at only a deep discount return next season.

I am hoping they consider bringing back UFA and Pittsburgh naive Trocheck this offseason.

  4. Well, I have been very blessed as a fan following the Penguins who are playing in their 16th season in a row in the NHL playoffs. This playoff run will likely end soon, and when it does I’ll just switch over to watching the draft lotteries and amateur drafts as they rebuild and retool after the Crosby, Malkin and Letang eras come to a close. I’ve been very fortunate to see them hoist 5 Stanley Cups during the Lemieux and Crosby years, and will also look forward to see how Burke and Hextall rebuild for future Stanley Cup runs…

  5. Yea, bad game, those 3 straight penalties changed the momentum, and after hearing Phil Bourque on NHL radio say if the Pens lose in the first round, he believes they won’t resign Letang, Malkin or Rust, and begin the retool of the roster in Pgh. I can’t disagree as just feel it’s time for some serious changes in Pgh. For me bringing back Pittsburgh native Vincent Trocheck would be a great start.
