  1. What's the deciding factor? TOI?

Jones  Chabot Werenski Provorov Heiskanen Dahlin Severson Parayko Morrisey Ekholm Brodin Dumba Pelech Petry Parayko

It's not to say a guy like HEiskanen won't be better or doesn't have a higher ceiling. Some of these guys might not be a #1 but they played top minutes.

Darnell Nurse eats minutes. Has shit goaltending behind him and Hits, Blocks and makes a huge difference for the oilers. If he got the PP time he's be cracking the 50 to 60 point mark.

Forget his contract . This is about the player. I'd take Nurse anyday over all of these guys. He's big and nasty and does it all.

There’s a difference between trading with the intention of trading back later (which is illegal), and trading with the option to trade back later. No doubt about that. But it’s pretty much impossible for anyone to confirm your intention. It’s all a very grey area.

I wouldn’t advise anyone to make a trade with the assumption that you’ll be allowed to trade back later, because the committee is well within its rights to block that future trade.

This is why we talk. To get to the bottom of the grey areas. well done.

  3. @Music ManI hear you.  But the offer was picks for a player . Those picks were premium and the player was premium. It's a valid trade that no one would have a problem with. Me telling Dan I would take the same picks back and we would make public is almost like  I stood up and pointed at the trade and screamed

"look at this trade!! look how fair it is!".

Giving @weeoilerthat option wasn't meant to be collusion as much as it was meant to be persuasive. The committee, the rulebook and the trading GM's all have a say when the caveats are on the table and not in the private messages.

I'm not deflating footballs or greasing up baseballs.

Oh wait, I stand entirely corrected.  Did a little research into this... the Executive Committee discussed it extensively back in April 2019, and the outcome was the creation of Appendix G of the rulebook.

"Additionally, a trade that the Committee feels violates any of the following specific rules may be sent to arbitration or even rejected outright (this list will be added to as situations arise, and is not in any way exhaustive):

    1. Player Loans – A player (or draft pick) cannot be traded to a team with the expressed intention of being traded back following the completion of the season (or at some other predetermined date).  Cap space can be loaned in this manner if a circumstance permits it. "

So was my offer valid or invalid? I feel as long as it is open to the committee  .. clarified and defined it shouldn't be a problem. I fully believe an NHL GM could make a trade like this if integrity  had a play.  I am also unaware of the stipulations of NHL trades.

I honestly think that was a fair deal for a Capwise GM that I know loves his player,

How about, the fever in “Lake Fever” is two things. What are they? Also, what is the theme this song shares with “Fireworks”?

  7. I get your plight. Maybe there's a shift in the way team management is working?

All the class act bullshit has done the Habs no favors in the quest to win the cup.

Here we have quality players  on  what could be considered low end contracts. It's good GM'ing from a financial standpoint.

As for the Mailloux. Right now. He needs guidance to help him become a better person.

I remember being 16 and the shit I was doing . I wish I had a structure around me to guide me then .. Let alone the entire organization of the Montreal Canadiens.

What message this sends is what you take from it.

Is it  - the Habs are stepping up to help a young man be responsible and become a better person.

or is it - this kid fucked up hard and should be shunned from society.

Helping everyone, healing the wounds, guiding the youth (because he was obviously misguided) should be priority #1.

It is the better message. It is the better way to be. Help the ones that lose their way. To a degree of course.

If they (the Canadiens) were even smarter they would extend a hand to the young woman and help her get through whatever it is she is going through .

    Manny Legace?

Sad that we won’t get a chance to see Zetterberg for one more season, and that he won’t be able to mentor all the young guys in the twilight of his career. Seems that’s always been part of the model in Detroit.

I had to throw him in there to make sure people were reading. Keep em on their toes. hahahaha

  9. Man .. Hard to believe this guy has played with some of the best from an era gone by. Yzerman, Federov, Hull, Shanahan, Manny Legace, Robitaille, Schneider, Chelios Hasek , Cujo. Datsyuk and Lidstrom more currently.

Fuckin detroit has been amazing over the years.

59 and 69 Pronger and Neidermayer for the Ducks 06 -07

Pronger only played 66 games. I say this counts.
