We sometimes forget that they are people first, then hockey players. I hope everything works out for him. I traded for him thinking that he was going to be traded in the summer and get a fresh start. When that didn't happen I thought oh oh. If he wasn't traded I think he would have gone home. Good move for the Blues. ( errr and hopefully for The Rainman.)

Geez I'm going back some but I was over the moon when I drafted Pavel Brendl. It still left it's mark as you can see. If you get a chance take a look at his junior stats.

Yes sir. It all depends on what your needs are. He's more than a decent Dman plus he's going to toughen them up behind the blue line which they need desperately.

Well in 2012 8 of the first 10 picks were Dmen. I know what you're saying but if you think Tkachuk is a can't miss me thinks you might be mistaken. The Gudbranson deal is one I'd make all day long. I think Benning beat Chia and the Oil to him. As we are seeing it's very tough to get to get good Dmen without over paying. I think unproven left wingers are a dime a dozen. Tkachuk's knock has been his skating. It didn't take long for it to catch up to Cody Hodgson. I'm not saying Tkachuk will end up like Cody but he might. I have enjoyed kicking this around. Just remember "We Are All Canucks"!

I didn't have a problem with Canucks taking Juolevi when they did.(5th) If you like a Dman enough you take him. When you don't have anymore picks in the 1st round you either take him then or say goodbye to him forever. If you look back to the 94 draft Jovanoski went 1st and Tverdovsky another Dman went 2nd. Nolan Baumgartner went 10th. It was really no secret that the Canucks wanted Pierre-Luc Dubois and when that went sideways that's when plan B was put into action. We all thought we knew the order of how the selections were going to go until Columbus had us all on the floor. So we shall see. I do remember when the Canucks took a Dman in the 1st round and I was pissed. I'm looking at this baby faced kid and thinking who is this kid going to move from in front of the net or a long the wall. Boy was I wrong. That baby faced kid was Mattias Ohlund who turned out to be some kind of warrior. Other Dmen that went early Drew Doughty 2nd Victor Hedman went 2nd Zach Brogosian 3rd Alex Pietrangelo went 4th. The list is endless. I'm looking forward as to see how these picks etc. turn out.
