  1. Heard that Brassard might be the backup alternative to O’Reilly for Les Canadians. Not really sure what comes back to the Pens in this deal other than some draft picks. Find it very hard to believe after all GMJR gave up to acquire Brassard that he would turn around and deal him, but guess anything is possible.
  2. Good of luck in finding any takers on the Weber contract, and not sure what teams would be willing to trade for the Price contract. Tough contracts too move that's for sure.
  3. Think it all starts at the top, with ownership. From all you read it would appear the owner is one of the major issues, and not real sure about their GM either. Real tough situation for any real diehard Senator fans. If they are set on trading Karlsson, they need to give Colorado their #1 pick this season as they will likely be a high percentage lottery pick next season. What do do they do, new owner, new GM would probably be a good start.
  4. What’s the source?? Not a peep at all on twitter so far this evening on Tavares.....
  5. Sure some Capwise Tavares owners watching TSN, Sportsnet and Twitter very closely today for Tavares updates...
  6. guess they got what they could get....not much.....sure will be interesting to see what happens with Karlsson now...
  7. Sure looks like he is at least going to the interview week before making a decision. Bad news for Capwise Johnny T owners today, and great news for the those that have the #1 re-entry pick and enough cap space to take on that nice shiny $11+ million AVV for 7-8 years. Be interesting if he interviews with Montreal. Still thinks it's probably a 75% chance he stays on the Island and 25% he signs elsewhere. Still don't know how in the world Toronto can make it work.
  8. So just read some comments about the possibility of the Pens possibly dealing Brassard to the Canadians. Very Interesting. Maybe Domi will be a short time Canadian. Don’t think the Pens would do Brassard for Domi one for one, but maybe the addition of a 2nd round pick or two might be enticing. So Canadian Fans, do you think Brassard would be a nice fit in Montreal??
  9. Read he had a two year renewal at a fixed salary if he won the Cup. Apparently the fixed salary was below what he felt was market value for a Cup winning coach. They apparently attempted to renegotiate the two year deal, but could not come to an agreement, and Trotz decided to resign. He he will likely sign a nice long term deal on the Island at a big number. Will this keep Johnny T on the Island? Maybe or maybe not. Assume Todd Reirden will finally get his chance at the head coaching job with the Caps and will be the coach going for back to back cups.
  10. Looks like Trotz has resigned as guess one cup is good enough for him and no reason to go for back-back cups with Caps. Assume headed to the Island with Lou L, as think that’s the only coaching job available.
  11. Is Domi a true C or another Drouin type winger that is slotted (forced )at center because the Canadians really have no real #1 center. The change of scenery might really help both players. Will the other shoe drop shortly on Patches?
  12. Just saw it on TSN. On the surface seems selling a little low on Galchenyuk who has been a 30 goal scorer with 56 points vs. Domi best year of 18 goals and 52 points. Assume he will be a center with the Canadians? What do the Canadian fans think?? Another bad Bergevin trade, or good deal for Canadians? Guess Domi won’t end up with the Pens now and not sure what his fantasy value is with Montreal??
  13. Have not heard that one.... are you sure not another rumor?? Looks like another Hockey Buzz Rumor
  14. I traded him at the beginning of this season in one of my leagues too rather than take the risk of losing him for nothing.
  15. With his baggage, not really too sure who will take the risk and trade with this player with his apparently toxic fiancé or girlfriend. Bad situation for the Senators as they either have to keep him, which would not be great for team moral, or try to get what they can in a trade and it won’t be a good deal as your trading from a position of weakness from the Ottawa side. Just a very bad situation for the Senators to deal with along with the situation with their Assistent GM.
  16. The clock is counting down on Johnny T becoming UFA in Capwise and a nice pickup for a team, that can afford his new contract, in the re-entry draft. All signs would seem to indicate that he will not resign with the NYI prior to the June 20th Capwise deadline. Big potential lose for some Capwise teams and Big potential gain for some others. Tick..Tock.. the clock is ticking💰
  17. Agree when I saw this on Twitter I was shocked by the story. Assume that this could definitely mean one of those players will be on the move this summer. If not, it will really be a challenging time in the locker room for these two high level players in Ottawa next season. Apparently reading Twitter, we can believe it or not, that Ottawa management knew about the situation as was one of their reasons behind moving these two high quality players.
  18. Then I would assume Evander Kane @ $7M is a pretty decent value too, as he does offer a very broad fantasy stats pack.
  19. Nice deal for a top defenseman for Arizona. From a pure Capwise perspective I am not really sure I would invest 8 years and $8m on OEL was rated at the 34th best defenseman in Fantrax. Pretty sure there here are better value options the OEL from a pure fantasy perspective. Thoughts.....
  20. From what you read, Tavares really likes Weight so my guess is that he at least goes to the one week “interview” period prior to July 1st to see what his options are with other teams. That at would mean Tavares would likely be the #1 pick in the Capwise re-entry draft in September. Big blow to current Johnny T owners in Capwise to lose him without any return. OUCH
  21. POTUS is a very polarizing figure, you either hate him with a passion or veimately support him with a passion. I don’t believe their is any middle ground with our current POTUS. With that said I fully expect the Capitals, without Pelly, to attend a White House event for their Championship. I would be totally shocked if they did not. On the the other hand, I would be TOTALLY shocked if the NBA champion makes any visit to the White House, that just won’t happen.
  22. Who was the First Russian to win the Conn Smyth? 2009-Geno Malkin Who is the 2nd Russian to win the Conn Smyth? 2018-Ovy, the player drafted 1st in the 2004 draft, followed by the 1st Russian Conn Smyth, Geno Malkin drafted #2. When the Caps win the Cup, man this is tough to type, it’s just about guaranteed that Ovy wins the 🏆, and much like possible Kessel deserved it with his stats during the 2016 Cup run, Sid won it because well he’s Sid and the same as Ovy will win the award over Kuznetsov.
  23. Just feels like their year as they have played very inspired hockey and I don’t see the Knights winning 3 straight based on the Caps have played the last three games. Can Fleury and the Knights make a comeback, sure, but just feel, UNFORTUNATLY, that this is their year to finally win the Cup for Ovy.
  24. First let me say from being a fan of the Penguins, I am don’t like their largest rival, the Capitals, and that’s a mild understatement. Like a Canadians Fan despises the Bruins or the Oilers fan despises the Flames or possible a Senators fan despises the Leafs. With that being said from a pure hockey perspective the Caps have worked hard to capture their first Cup. Hats off to them winning the Cup. Holtby finally had a solid playoff, Ovy I must admit is a star player who finally gets to drink from Lord Stanley’s Cup for the first time and could also be a Conn Smyth winner has had a very inspired playoff run for his first Cup. They have played great and as teams need to do to win the cup at times avoided any real significant injuries and got some good puck luck as they beat 3 very solid Eastern Conference Teams to reach the finals and with a 3-1 lead I really don’t see Vegas coming back. They had 4 very solid lines going, a goalie playing great and a solid defensive structure, that’s certainly a Cup winning formula for sure. Enjoy it your Stanley Cup Caps fans as your team earned it. As a Pens fan I can now only look to 18-19 season for the Pens to go after their 6th Cup and give the Metro Division the Stanley Cup for 4 straight seasons.
  25. Probably not....best justice for Wilson would be for Vegas to win the Cup in 4-5 games, and then all the Knights can smile at him in the handshake line and say “ maybe next year you piece of shit”.....
