  1. Hertl is 4 years at $5.7. Good player and hopefully with more upside for his new AVV. Nice raise from his prior $3M AVV. Being paid like a top 6 forward now, so will the performance match the AVV? Guess these days you pretty much playing any top six player $5-6M AVV, unless they are on their ELC. Thornton is 1 year at $5.0. At 39 guess he may have a little left in the tank.
  2. Waiting for an 18 year old to be your center, yikes, maybe he’s ready to play in the NHL in several years, so afraid it’s going to be a long wait. Patience is required. So the Canadiens don’t add any centers, unless you count the resigning of Plekanec to be their #1 center going into the year. Well, they will definitely be in the Jack Hughes lottery next year one would assume
  3. Who is left for the Canadians to get for a center? Not much left in the UFA pool for centers. Assume they will have to trade patches to pick up a 1st Lin center.
  4. The initial Cain AVV projections for JVR was around $5.5M, guess he missed that one.
  5. Reaves looks like back to Vegas 2 years $2.750 per year Nice paycheck for 4th line winger who may score 5 goals a year. If if this is what tomorrow looks like, OH BOY💲
  6. He’s 28, so contract takes him to 36 at 11M AVV. Assume you might see some future Capwise Trade Blocks on Doughty. Just a guess😃💰💰💰💰
  7. Have REAL concerns with Trouba asking for $8M. His stats just don’t support that AVV. I own him in several Capwise Leagues and really anxious about what his new term and AVV look like. Don’t believe in paying defenseman, unless his name is Karlsson, possible Doughty $7-8M. Tough decision with this RFA in resigning or releasing for re-entry draft. I know the Jets won’t pay him $8M, possible another hold out, trade or a more reasonable contract in the 5-6M range.
  8. Here's the Capwise thread for the July 1st UFA insanity. Best UFA signing? Worst UFA signing? Which teams vastly improved their 2019 Cup chances with their UFA signings? Should be a real interesting Sunday..
  9. I am not excited at all about signing JJ to a 5 year contract, if that is in fact happens on Sunday. If signed, I will give GMJR the benefit of the doubt and hopefully JJ will revitalize his career playing with his buddy Sid. He was a top pick the year Sid was picked, so apparently does have some skills. Again, hopefully he is re-energized with a new team and likely in a new role as a 5-6 defenseman. From all you read on twitter of HF Boards GMJR has lost his mind signing this terrible defenseman for a long term deal. Let's hope this is more of a deal that turns out as well as Daley or Hainsey vs. his decision on a 3 year Hunwick contract. Guess we we will all find out around noon on Sunday....
  10. Acccording to Cap Friendly they have $8,182,500 in cap. They need one more forward and one more defenseman. They will definitely sign Olekziak, my guess around $1.5. If they did sign JJ to a 5-year contract at $3.5, that would still leave $3.182. Maybe sign DuClair for $1M and Kunitz for $1M and leave a little cap cushion. Still not real excited about a 5 year deal for Johnson, but not a lot of UFA defenseman, like DeHaan, but he sure seems injury prone, so if they like Johnson and there are a bunch of other teams offering 5 year terms, guess if they really like him, they need to match the market
  11. Don’t see them re-signing Kuhnhackl or Rowney. Apparently Kuhn turned down a 2 year contract offer before the Pens walked away from a QO. They have Blueger who is younger, faster and cheaper than Rowney so don’t see Rowney being pursued too heavily by any team.
  12. DK Pittsburgh Sports is reporting looks like 5 years at $14.5 ($2.5). Indicated Jack’s agent stated they had several 5 year offers on the table. Don’t like the term for a 31 year old defenseman coming off a real bad year. Know he and Sid are very close, but if it’s 5 years and $2.5 I could probably live with that AVV and term. Would them allow the Pens to likely resign Sheahan and Oleksiak, along with possibly Grabner or DuClair. If its 5 years at $3.0-$3.5 not sure I really like that deal for the Pens.
  13. Interested to see if all the Capwise Teams re-sign Miller at the AVV and Term.
  14. Salaries just keep going up, up, and up for mid level players.
  15. What hurt RFA Mrazek and Lehner were there Qualifying offers I think had to be 10% above their last contracts, and both were $4M contracts. Assume the teams felt they could allow them to go UFA as they did no fell they were worth that level of contract. Sure both will likely find homes these season, but not sure they will be targeted by any teams as a starting goalie. Well, maybe Lehner will be but Mrazek will be targeted as likely a backup and his new contract will reflect that value.
  16. Looks like no qualifying offer for Petr Mrazek, so likely add him to Robin Lehner as UFA for the Capwise re-entry Draft.
  17. Be very interested to see what other RFA'S are not tendered qualifying offers and became UFA'S for the Capwise re-entry draft.
  18. Big AVV for 8 years for a defenseman. Will he be a top 5 Capwise re-entry pick? Personally don't think I would want that contract, but sure there may be some teams that would draft him as their #1defenseman. So if Carlson gets $8M for 8 years, guess that kinda sets the floor for Karlsson and Doughty who are now likely in the $9-11M range
  19. See he is now scheduled to vist with 5 teams. Does he stay on the Island or move to much GREENER🏒$$$ pastures??? Would be a BIG blow to Lou and Trotz if he did not sign in NY.
  20. Fox-Hamilton-Ferland Hanifin-Lindholm for now as reported.
  21. 3 years at 35, guess he has some left in the tank, but how much? Thought he was after a Stanley Cup, and don’t really see him making that much of a difference for LAK to be bonfied Cup contenders.
  22. Don't be too surprised if Orpik resigns with Washington after he is bought out by. Colorado at a very low salary. Please Penguins DO NOT sign him at ANY salary, as his best days are long gone.
  23. GM came out in public and stated he would not receive a qualifying offer. Maybe he will change his mind by the 25th, you never know.
  24. Looks like the Sabres have confirmed they will not be extending a qualifying offer to Lehner, so would appear he will shortly become a UFA in the Capwise Leagues.
  25. Being a Pens fan my preference would be to keep Geno. It’s NEVER going happen with Tavares. I would be stunned if he did not resign in NY and NY will likely convince him they will be making a major upgrade in goal, and probably go aggressively after John Carlson.
