  1. Is this related to Gallagher going down, I wonder?
  2. And it’s a two way deal! 70k to ride the buses in the AHL. LMAO
  3. Depends how well he does playing with Little. If he gets 55 points again, he’ll complain. If he gets 80, he won’t.
  4. Hopefully this pushes down the price on some as-yet-unsigned RFAs. I'm looking at you, Patrik Laine and Kyle Connor.
  5. Cool! Side note - why did they decapitate Johann Hedberg and put him in the lobby? Kinda weird if you ask me.
  6. Agreed. I was just thinking that if he makes peanuts, it's an indication of just how much he hates management. Didnt know about the hotel. That's wild... seems to be pretty basic knowledge that you have to surround a kid like that with some kind of a network, as the Pens did with Sid living at Mario's house, and as the Habs did with Kotka and the nucleus of other Finns (plus his mom, who moved to Montreal for the year).
  7. What are the Weasels paying him? Is that a factor here?
  8. Don’t forget that this is Vas’ first big-money deal. Bob had the $7 million deal. Huge jump in salary for Vas.
  9. Love this thread. I have Gretzky, Gaborik, and Chelios. I think those three could take on any team that’s been assembled here, even Veg’s I’ll-cheat-by-using-half-my-actual-name all-star team.
  10. Yeah but “designed” not to succeed? Bergevin wanted to fail? What the hell is that? I don’t like the guy but I do believe he is trying his best.
  11. ...with no explanation of what that means. Gratuitous and hard to understand
  12. Interesting, point Veg. Maybe there’s something to this, then. Like I’ve been saying for years now, Marc Bergevin is a brilliant strategist. Hope this works out!
  13. Interesting but not enough, even accounting for Mrs. Kotkaniemi’s delicious home cooking.
  14. As for Carolina, not sure they’re poor so much as they are trying to squeeze a good deal out of Aho
  15. Two and a half hours in, and the only action in Montreal is Veg taking his shirt off. This is not what Habs fans want to see.
  16. Ha ha! Glad to know someone else is in the same boat. I’m working in my break room, in five second intervals between glances at the tv. Cmon Habs just spend that money already!!
  17. Aho would be awesome and there is a solid Finnish core in MTL but Gardiner is the likely move for the Habs it seems. How much of an overpay is the question...
  18. Re: Letang, Pittsburgh has been looking to move him for a while. Maybe less so now that Kessel is gone. A blog called Pittsburgh Hockey Now cited a “well-placed source within the Canadiens organization” about a week ago. Anyway, back to the point - this Shaw move doesn’t seem entirely necessary to me from a cap perspective. Boo, I say. Boo.
  19. That was actually a good deal. And Shaw wasn’t as attractive a player then. He just had a monster year and is super cheap. Less term remaining, obviously, but still. I sure hope MB isn’t making room for Letang. I love him as a player but the celebrity of being a francophone Quebecer playing for the Habs will kill him - it’s not a good fit.
  20. Also that return is terrible.
  21. What? No. Why? Please not Duchene.
  22. Makes sense given the contractual situation of the other top D and with Fabbro poised to take a spot but I would have thought there would be a better return. Last year wasn’t great for PK but he can still be elite.
