  1. Confirmed trade. Straight up. https://www.sportsnet.ca/hockey/nhl/canadiens-acquire-max-domi-coyotes-alex-galchenyuk/
  2. If a player has waited this long, I don't see why they would not wait a little longer and at least go through the UFA interview process at the end of the month. Whatever the Isles are willing to offer today will still be on the table on June 30.
  3. Sobering stuff https://www.theplayerstribune.com/en-us/videos/daniel-carcillo-head-trauma https://www.theplayerstribune.com/en-us/articles/nick-boynton-everythings-not-ok
  4. This is just so weird: http://ottawacitizen.com/news/local-news/mike-hoffmans-longtime-girlfriend-allegedly-behind-campaign-of-harassment-against-melinda-and-erik-karlsson
  5. When you look at the yearly leaders for goals, Ovie clearly dominates this era. Other players who dominated for long stretches of time include Gretzky for much of the 80s, Phil Esposito for much of the 70s, and Bobby Hull in the 60s That Gordie Howe guy was ok too, though he did have some stiff competition in the Rocket. https://www.hockey-reference.com/leaders/goals_yearly.html
  6. I don't even think Bossy is number 2. Gretzky and Bossy's NHL careers overlapped for 8 seasons. During that time frame, Gretzky scored 543 goals to Bossy's 451. In terms of single seasons, Gretzky outscored Bossy five times and they tied once (1979-1980).
  7. Caps are finally doing it! As for greatest scorer debate, hockey reference's stats adjusted for era support the Ovie side I think: https://www.hockey-reference.com/leaders/goals_adjusted_career.html
  8. Yikes! I get the feeling they're going to regret that one.
  9. I love you too Bigdog, but you're setting yourself up for a big disappointment. As every woman I've ever been with will attest, I don't perform well under pressure. It's true, both of them will tell you the same thing. Hopefully, you'll be as forgiving as Mrs. Thunder.
  10. I totally nailed it. I'm so awesome.
  11. They did a good job breaking it down. They've convinced me.
  12. I didn't see the Wennberg hit, but I don't see how he could be blamed for anythin on the Dumoulin incident. This one looked borderline to me when I was watching the game, but I haven't watched the replays since then.
  13. Freaking Ovie! He's definitely winning it this year. Just call me Nostradamus.
  14. They drafted a Russian with the first round pick in two of the last four drafts. If they don't like Russians, they're doing it wrong.
  15. From everything I've read, there seems to be a fairly wide consensus that Svechnikov is the second best prospect in the draft. I guess there is a small chance that Carolina picks Zadina because of the fact that they already have Martin Necas in the system and the two have shown chemistry at the World Junior Championship. I hope they do. Not only does Svechnikov seem like a better player for my Habs, I think Bergevin and his posse would have a harder time passing on him than on Zadina. If the choice is Zadina, I'm afraid they'll do something silly like drafting Tkachuk or a D.
  16. Just wow. Poor Ovie will never ever win a cup.
  17. He's the answer who was in the locker room all along.
  18. Same is true of Gaudreau, though. Could be Benn too. He just seems to be trending downward. I like Kuz slightly more going forward, but it could turn out to be the wrong call.
  19. I'd go Seguin, Stamkos, Kuznetsov, Gaudreau and Rantanen.
  20. http://www.businessinsider.com/blackhawks-accountant-emergency-goalie-hero-2018-3
  21. This has to be one of the weirdest ever scored.
  22. And here I was feeling bad for forgetting to activate Marchand from IR+. You win. Er, lose?
  23. As good a season as they're having, I'd be surprised to see Vegas trade two of their big time prospects. I expect they'll stay the course. Maybe add a small rental, but nothing crazy.
  24. So Plekanec at 50% retained for the Leafs' second, Kirby Reichel and Rinat Valiev. I was hoping for a 2nd and a b-level C prospect, but this isn't too bad. I think that's 4 picks in the second round for the Habs. Gives them flexibility at the draft. Also sounds like Plekanec may come back as UFA. I'd like to see him end his career in a Habs jersey.
