  1. James' thinking wiht the PPS is not another avenue for Streaming players, its to allow teams flexibility when they have longterm issues or injuries. the PPS is perfect because it allows you to stash that player who you KNOW is out for the year and that does not take up an IR spot. meaning if you have other injured players that are injured in the short term they can still occupy your IR slots and you get Replacements for them. if you put fabbri on IR you are locked in to a replacement for his spot and managing that all year. as opposed to opening up a roster spot entirely. meaning anyone can fill that space and you dont need to manage the replacement aspect. Yes its a choice how you use it. but the intent is to provide more flexibility around players who are out long term.
  2. Yeah this sucks... only silver lining is that opens another spot for the 4 or 5 guys battling for spots. Is it a St. Louis thing.... Sam Bradford back to back knee injuries.... Fabbri same thing... hmmm. Blues Fabbri, Steen, Bouwmeester, sanford all injured right now. some out for extended time.
  3. Might be better to go Holtby tbh. if you are only getting points for wins and SO's you shold maximize that..
  4. just for clarifications sake... is your grand grand mother dead or her cat? asking for a friend.
  5. Bazos took over for like 18 hours lol. Thats an awesome happenstance blue charm!
  6. nice move! pretty sure someone did this a few years ago in the KHL all star game. ballsy to use it when it mattered! glad it worked out!
  7. Shattenkirk isnt a cornerstone defenseman (yet). Hes a PP specialist who is a defensive liability at times. STL will miss him for sure, but everyone knew a trade was happeneing. Dont get me wrong, i really like Shatty, great dude, great player, lots of time for him to become cornerstone guy. great trade for Washington... more offense to power through playoffs.
  8. last year i did 8... (all but 1 free, but 4 salary based). and it was WAAAAAY to much... this year im back down to 4 (including two with CHA) and its way more managable. heh. plus if i keep committing to spend more money on fantasy hockey at some point my wife will kill me
  9. nice work byz! thanks for working so hard to keep us running!
  10. Domi put him down. You know he grew up watching his dad fight... savage.
  11. I suppose the assumption is that hes listing the ones still playing there. but it is an odd omission since hall has been pretty much their best player in recent years.
  12. I think his game works well with what what STL is currently looking for. Speed and skill. Should be fun to watch.
  13. http://lkorac10.blogspot.com/2016/10/yakupov-to-get-second-chance-on-off-ice.html?m=1 not trying to stir anything up, I just don't have insight into the EDM team landscape. I know a lot of you are fans, so I thought I would share this. Some interesting insight.
  14. I'm a blues fan. i hate Kane. but its hard not to bring him up in a Points only discussion. i mean, hes not going past the red (center) line so hes gonna have way more opportunites than others to score.
  15. Assuming it is POINTS only... A: Ovechkin, Kane B: Gaudreau, Tarasenko, Seguin C: Burns, Klingberg, Subban, Doughty D: Matthews, Draisaitl E: Holtby, Jones, Price
  16. No offense to pav, but its a about time. Jets are better than they have been since relocating (again) and hes what has been holding them back.
  17. 2 of their PP guys walked in free agency, so there is PP time to be had for sure.
  18. I would like to say that if i were an Edmonton fan i would not be happy at all with that return. >_< i feel for you guys. <3
  19. The Blues Top 9 was pretty solid then. Now... you cant really say that. other than Senko, RW is pretty much anyones game. Perron, yakupov, jaskin, Rattie, Ferraro, Barbashev, Reaves (i know i know). Brouwer and Backes leaving left a hole there a mile wide. he could possibly be in line for the same fate, but part of me doubts it.
  20. Homer Alert: (im a hockey fan first, blues fan second) I think he has an opportunity to do really well. hes 150% better than David Perron as far as RW2 goes. The Blues plan this offseason was to get faster, not bigger. This helps that. Assuming that Yak plays on the 2nd line (which he should) the 15 goals is pretty much a lock... Fabbri-Stastny-Yakupov so it will be a 2nd round pick (in 2018) for sure. having said that, much like bagwell mentioned this could be a MPS situation all over again. im cautiously opptomistic, but Yak has way more upside than MPS ever did. Seems to me that the Blues werent really impressed with Either Ty Rattie or Landon Ferraro (the two battling for a roster spot). This move was a result of that. Rattie didnt really improve size wise over the summer and im not too sure what the deal was with Ferraro. I gotta be honest, im not sure what EDM brass were thinking here, but in the end its their own fault that Yak's value was so low (and probably a lot HIS fault as well)
  21. He's gonna take his ball and go home. what a whiner. Good Riddance.
  22. BOLD. Who is going to stop Kane from getting 100 points again?
  23. The spirit of the thread was the top 5 forwards from the 2016 draft. so in this case vesey wouldnt fit. But i suppose he would likely be the guy with the most upside on all the rookie lists.
