  1. How about Pittsburgh? GMJR is a magician... maybe he gets Colorado to retain salary on Duchene and brings him in as the 3rd line center in exchange for like a first rounder and a D prospect or two. Yes, I'm dreaming... there's no way it'll happen. But if Duchene decides to hold out and not show up for camp, then maybe.
  2. My favorite moment of the draft is when ALL THE DRAFTS ARE FINALLY OVER. Hallelujah. T-minus 12 days til the next ones.
  3. Also sidebar color palette. And when you initially click for a new post, text box highlight is blue. But now I'm just nitpicking.
  4. User profile pages are weird: http://capwisehockey.com/forums/profile/1-byz/
  5. Minor color things... - Poll option progress bar is blue - Highlight around selected window in PM prompt (i.e. when you click the subject line, the highlight around that text box) is blue - In a PM, username of addressee is blue
  6. Surprised that the size of a lot of these numbers... Daley and Del Zotto in particular. Hunwick seems like a good option to replace Daley while saving a million bucks.
  7. OK fixed. Sorry about that. And sorry about being so mean to hotmail.
  8. The spreadsheets have somehow increased in size by like 800% since the last update. I'm looking into it now. In the meantime, the links on the site will be dead (except CFHL and GNFL)
  9. Thank you all for your kind words and generous donations. We have easily raised the $100 needed to cover the updates, and then some. The extra money will be added to the league's coffers for the future. Donations are welcome at any time using the link above. Kind words are also welcome at any time
  10. The addition of a new NHL team, and the changes to some of our rules (i.e. JV limits) has required an update to our Spreadsheet Database, at a cost of $100. As you know, I skim a bit off the entry fees in order to pay for league things like maintaining the website, paying for the domain name, keeping Excel updated to the latest version, purchasing hard drives, etc. Unexpected hits, like updating the Spreadsheet Database, are a little tougher to manage and come out of the small profit I pocket from Capwise each year. If you feel so inclined to contribute any additional funds on top of the entry fee you've already paid, your donations would be greatly appreciated by everyone within this community who benefits from these costly resources. You can contribute by clicking the "CUSTOM" button under the Capwise logo at the bottom of this page: http://capwisehockey.com/shop/. Any amount, small or large, makes a dent and is appreciated! Thank you all for what you bring to the community -- whether it's donating money, or just giving us all your best fantasy effort (which everyone does!), or simply engaging in some fun hockey chit chat from time to time -- for a hockey fan in a hockey wasteland down here in SoCal, it's a pleasure.
  11. Just bumping this to encourage everyone to give to this extremely worthy cause! I know we all get hit up for a lot of charities throughout the year, but how many combine a guy you kinda know with hockey and sick kids?!
  12. Haha! Maybe he should be avoiding Facebook, eh?
  13. Funny little thing that only you people will appreciate... I'm captain of my beer league team, so I belong to this Facebook group for finding sub goalies on short notice. It's a local thing... just LA and Orange counties, maybe 20 rinks covered, 1000 members in the group. Anyway, I saw this post today... thought it was funny that there's a local guy named Garret Sparks until I realized it's the Garret Sparks, haha. No idea how or why he's part of this Facebook group, but it cracked me up, anyway. Good to see a pro with a sense of humor (and enough free time to peruse the depths of Facebook).
  14. I've changed the look of the banners a bit to make them a little neater and (hopefully) easier to read. I also made the HUFA/CHA championship banners a different shape to stand out more. You should feel free to edit your signature to move or resize your banners as you see fit. They're designed at 142x200, so please don't make them any bigger than that. They're currently displayed at 75x106, so you can go bigger or smaller from there, and you can align them to the right or left or whatever you want. By winning them, you've earned the right to hang them where you like. I think I got everyone, including the guys who aren't in the league anymore. But if you see any that are failing to load, or if you feel like you're missing a banner or two (and actually won one), let me know!
  15. Two weeks would be way better, for sure. I'd definitely combine them into one scoring matchup. I'm just glad we're not still on Yahoo where failing to meet the GP minimum means losing all goalie categories. At least with Fantrax it's just 2 of the 16 total categories that are affected. That's not that bad.
  16. Oh oh, you're just talking about demotions. Yeah, I think that addendum makes sense. I'll add it to the green flag thread tomorrow.
  17. I'm open to ideas, but I can't think of any way to address it, short of making all matchups in february and march 2-week matchups. And nobody wants that....
  18. Oh interesting. I misunderstood -- the reports all said that the players got the bye week in exchange for accepting the all-star format. But you're right, the bye week wasn't actually intended to compensate for the all-star game. It was just a quid pro quo type of thing.
  19. It was to get players to come to the all-star game, right? I imagine they'll keep it in place if there's an all-star game next year. Which hopefully there won't be!!!
  20. We do have the ability to combine two weeks into one matchup, by the way (like we did around the NHL All-Star Game). If the bulk of teams are taking their bye week within this two week window, it would make sense. I wonder though if this two-week snapshot you've taken here is a worst-case-scenario, or would any two-week snapshot in the month of February look like this?
  21. Kane and Mackinnon were both 1st overall, right? Still an interesting point. So many top picks in one division
